Kitchen Gardening Wonders
To combat hunger and nutritional security, HSF started promoting the creation of kitchen gardens.
We have engaged marginalised communities in the remote villages to make use of their backyards for this project. Saplings and seeds of vegetables like brinjal, lady finger, carrots, tomatoes, chilli and many other were distributed to them. We have ensured completion of work and rewarded them with grocery kits which would last for 2 months. The outcome ensured a standard source of consumption for the families and a viable livelihood for them. The project also resulted in increased incomes for the families by selling the surplus produce to their neighbours.
